By competing in Knoxville’s Real Men Wear Pink 2015 campaign, I’m doing my best to make sure some amazing ladies are around for a long time to come.

I’m a breast surgical oncologist. I’m a general surgeon who’s got extra training in breast cancer surgery. What I do is treat women with breast cancer, and help them get through their treatments, help them understand what they’re doing, and why they’re doing. I do the life saving part, but part of my practice is a little bit of plastic surgery.

I’ve dedicated my life to treating breast cancer. My mother-in-law passed away from cancer about 12 years ago. That really was a changing point in my life. It was very devastating. It’s sad that my kids aren’t growing up knowing their grandma; knowing their Lola. So as my dedication, and with my wife we came together and decided that we were going to try and do our best to make sure that as many kids would have their grandma’s for as long as they possibly could.

My wife has put together a beautiful basket of breast cancer and pink nostalgia and stuff. So we’re selling raffle tickets. We have a basket full of paraphernalia from Pier One and Pink Lady. It’s fun neat stuff to have. We’re selling raffle tickets at $5 each. The winner will come home with a beautiful Real Men Wear Pink American Cancer Society Strides against Breast Cancer basket.

To learn more about why I’m doing what I’m doing, check out this blog post.  If you are interested in buying a raffle ticket for the gift bag you can stop by my office and buy tickets.
