Tennova’s Health Extra For Women and The American Cancer Society invite you to a very special luncheon celebrating the lives and future birthdays of our mothers, sisters, daughters and friends diagnosed with breast cancer.

I’m honored to be the featured speaker and will discuss the latest technology and advancements used to treat breast cancer. Sharing from my expertise as East Tennessee’s only Fellowship-Trained Breast Surgical Oncologist is always something I look forward to.

Together, we will celebrate 100 years of The American Cancer Society and celebrate more birthdays for all cancer patients on Thursday, October 24 at the Foundry in the World’s Fair Park in Knoxville, TN. Click here for more information on the event.

Technology is cool and the coming biotechnology revolution will change the way we defeat breast cancer in specific and against cancer in general.

Still, as cool as technology is, it is the human element that will ultimately make the difference. Without women participating in clinical trials, without families providing the support those women need, without friends providing laughs and a shoulder on which to cry, and without complete strangers providing meals and rides, this biotechnology revolution will not succeed. The government may provide money, Big Pharma may provide the know-how, but women will provide the woman-power needed to see this revolution through to victory.

I hope you will join me, the American Cancer Society, and Tennova as we celebrate more birthdays. The lecture is cool, the lunch is free, and the celebration is priceless.
