Join Us At The 10th Annual Pink Ribbon Celebration With Chris Blue and Leann Morgan

October 17, 2018 / Dr. Aaron G. Margulies / Knoxville Community, Cancer Survival
0

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I am proud to be a sponsor for the 10th Annual Pink Ribbon Celebration on October 30th, at the Grande Event Center off Merchants Road from 6 — 9:00 p.m. I and my staff will be in the good company of breast cancer survivors and supporters, as well as comedian Leann Morgan and Chris Blue, winner of The Voice in 2017.

The event serves two important goals. The first is to honor breast cancer survivors, and the second is to raise money for the Compassion In Action fund so that uninsured and underinsured women can receive breast imaging and financial help when needed. The Compassion In Action fund has paid for mammograms, breast ultrasounds, breast biopsies, and breast MRIs, and has also helped cancer patients who need financial help with house payments, utilities, cancer medications, etc. The Pink Ribbon Celebration alone has raised nearly $200,000 dollars for the Compassion In Action fund.

This evening is a celebration for breast cancer survivors, their families, physicians, friends, and caretakers. Breast cancer survivors are invited free of charge and will be treated to a special reception with gift bags from Fountain City Jewelers. The event includes:

  • Buffet dinner
  • Cash bar
  • Free parking
  • Silent auction
  • Raffle items
  • Entertainment

The entertainment that’s lined up for this year’s event is amazing, including comedian Leanne Morgan and musical guests Chris Blue plus Dee Dee Brogan, Julius Blue, and friends. Emcees will be WBIR News anchor Robin Wilhoit and B97.5’s Michele Silva.

Each year the Pink Ribbon Celebration has grown in attendance. Last year, over 500 people enjoyed an exciting, fun-filled evening, and even more participation is anticipated this year.

Breast cancer survivors are invited free of charge and general admission tickets are $60. Doors open at 5:45 pm. For more information and to buy tickets (or to get your free breast cancer survivor tickets) call 865-333-4939, or visit Pink Ribbon Celebration.
